Wiki Madness is a Lotus Community event created by Chris Toohey of dominoGuru.com and David Leedy of NotesIn9.com. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and visibility of the excellent content that members of the Lotus Community create on a daily basis.
Let's face it - Not every Lotus customer knows of the fantastic aggregator site, Planet Lotus. And not every contributor knows that a customer might start and end their search for information on official Lotus sites like the Forums and Product Wiki's.
It is our belief the by cross posting content to Wiki articles, and then by placing links on those articles to the creator's website, then the content will reach the widest possible audience and the contributors will gain the widest possible recognition.
While Wiki Madness enjoys the support of the Lotus Technical Information and Education team, this event is solely organized and controlled by Chris and David.
As an incentive to get valued contributors to make the extra step of what is effectively copying and pasting new and existing content to the product Wiki's, Chris and David have secured various giveaway items at their own personal cost or via sponsor donations. These giveaways will be RANDOMLY distributed to people who contribute wiki articles from February 23, 2010 thru March 31, 2010. The contributors must send us the links to the articles via the New Article Submission form that can be found on WikiMadness.com or other participating sites.
The content of the article must be new to the product wiki but can be pre-existing information that has been posted to a submitter-owned personal blog. The contributor can create as many Wiki articles as they like. The submitter of the article must be the person who created the original content. The content must be a valuable addition to the product wiki. Any Lotus Product wiki is eligible.
When the time comes to determine who receives any giveaway items, we will RANDOMLY match an item from our pool of giveaways to the pool of contributors. Once a contributor is assigned a giveway they will then be ineligible for a second giveaway until all contributors have been assigned a giveaway. If there are still giveaways available then all the names become eligible again for a second round of assignments. Depending on the number of contributors and the number and type of give aways, Chris and Dave reserve the right to combine items into "giveaway packs".
So the more articles you enter, the greater the chance you have of us sending you one of our giveaways. No "seconds" until everybody receives something. There are no guarantees that every contributor will receive a giveaway.
This is NOT a contest! The only winners are the people who might be able to more easily find needed information. This is an incentive program and Chris and Dave reserve the right, at their sole discretion to handle this event as the deem fit. They will make best efforts to package and ship any giveaways to the best of their abilities. They will make best efforts to handle assignment and distribution of giveaways in as fair a manner as they deem possible.
Chris and David feel that the time, effort and personal expense incurred for this project is a thank you to the community for providing us with valuable content that we have personally benefited from over the years.
